Slumber Party Tips & Ideas

Slumber Party and Sleepover Games and Ideas

I am so glad you came here to find slumber party and sleepover games and ideas. My main goal is to help you plan a fun and unforgettable sleepover for your kids.

First Sleepover

I still remember my first slumber party, I was in the third grade and I remember listening to records of the musical Grease. I had actually never seen the movie but I still had a lot of fun dancing and singing with my friends. So can you guess my age now? Does this movie age me?

My daughter is in third grade this year and she actually went to her first sleepover. I know the girls had a lot of fun I bet it was new for most of them and a few had a little bit of trouble staying the whole night but everyone actually made it through the night OK.

Not everyone will show up to the sleepover that is invited.  Some parents do not allow their children to attend slumber parties.  Accept and respect their decision and focus on the children that are allowed.

Sleepover Invitations

Send out cute slumber party invitations.  Create a fun theme, such as a glow party, or retro party.

Menu

Plan the menu.  You can keep it simple or go all out.  I can tell you; the kids will not mind either way. You can keep it simple by ordering pizza or subs.  Buy some bags of chips and cookies for snacks. Have bottles of water, juice, and soda on hand.

If you want to go all out, set up a nacho bar, build your own pizza, taco bar, or sundae bar.  Be aware of food allergies before setting up the menu.

Create Ground Rules

Set up ground rules.  Where food can be eaten, permission for food and drinks, or to go outside.  Keep all doors open.

Set up Sleeping Area

Decide where everyone will sleep.  A bedroom or the living room.  What will the setup be?  Will everyone bring their own sleeping bags and bedding or will you provide it all.  Don’t forget to include this information in the invitation.  Give the kids a tour of the house.k
